AWAL can deliver your content worldwide to the major on-line stores and download sites on a no-fee basis. We will never charge you to encode, upload and deliver your music, instead we work solely on a 15% distribution commission. Our non-exclusive agreement and 30 day rolling term gives you the flexibility and freedom to control your career. The business of music is an ever changing industry, and we recognise that artistic and financial freedom are cornerstones of this evolution.
We can arrange priority processing and delivery tailored to your specific needs. Please contact us directly at info@awal.com.
Download the AWAL agreement. The important text is only one page long with no lawyer speak. Make sure you understand that you have the rights to whatever you send to us.
Existing clients can now use our online submission wizard to deliver music to us quickly and easily. You must log in to access the uploader.
We have a Frequently Asked Questions page, which is a good starting point for any queries you might have.
If you aren’t currently an AWAL client, don’t have login details for the website or would like to submit your release via post, email us for assistance.
We will encode and deliver as soon as possible, usually within days. The digital stores have their own rules and guidelines, so please allow plenty of lead time. Six weeks prior should be an ample amount of time to meet an agreed upon release date.
We will account for sales to you quarterly, and within 30 days of AWAL receiving the monies from the stores. For example, iTunes has 8 territories around the world and they all account differently for the same period. We need to wait until the funds arrive in our account so we can calculate the exact exchange rates. We then deduct our 15% and send you the rest either by good-old-fashioned cheque, bank transfer, or Paypal.
We will advise you on royalty statements if the songwriters mechanical royalties have been deducted at the source. Please note that the songwriter’s mechanicals are the responsibility of you the client unless advised otherwise on your statement. Some digital stores in various territories pay these directly under a blanket agreement - some do not. Please check your statements.
